After hurricane Katrina, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) assembled the Interagency Performance Evaluation Task Force (IPET) to perform an intense performance evaluation of the New Orleans and Southeast Louisiana Hurricane Protection System (HPS). ASCE’s Hurricane Katrina External Review Panel (ERP) conducted an in-depth review of the comprehensive work of IPET at the USACE’s request.

Professors Ed. Link and Gerry Galloway are participants in a special 13-session webinar series organized by ASCE and USACE and members of the IPET and ERP. This series will examine the findings and insights of the IPET and ERP teams and will provide the audience with important knowledge needed to prevent similar disasters from happening again. In addition to discussing the IPET and ERP reports, the series will discuss findings from other post-Katrina studies including key lessons learned with respect to soil erosion and protection and wave forces on bridge decks.

"Overview and Lesson's learned" and "Ethical Obligations Exposed" are presented by professors Link and Galloway respectively.
