Nikola Ivanov, Systems Engineer and Senior Technical Advisor at the Center for Advanced Transportation Technology Laboratory (CATT Lab) has been named the interim chair of the newly established Operations and Preservation Group Young Members Council (YMC) of the Transportation Research Board (TRB). Nikola has also been elected to represent the TRB Operations and Preservation Group as a member of the parent Young Members Council reporting directly to the Executive Committee of TRB.

TRB recently established the YMC in order to encourage and expand young professional participation in all aspects of the TRB community. The goal of this group is to provide opportunities for young professionals to get involved, network, and learn.

The first council meeting will take place at the TRB 91st Annual Meeting on Sunday, January 22, 2012 from 4 – 5:30pm at the Marriott (Taft Room). For more information about the YMC, visit: http://ymc.groupsite.com/
